Camping’s position is optimal to allow our Guests to reach easily all the historical places in the neighbours such as Campiglia Marittima with San Silvestro fortress (ancient iron workshop probably of the period from X-XI century) and the near village of Suvereto with San Francesco's cloister.
Going on to the heart of the coast, there is Massa Marittima, an unespected jewel, with its famous Cathedral, Presbytery and the Bishop's Palace while on the coast, along the road to San Vincenzo, we can find the ancient castle of Populonia which seems to protect the magic gulf of Baratti and the old etruscan necropolis of Saint Cerbone, offering to all visitors a suggestive mix of history and modernity.
Riotorto Camping is wonderfully surrounded by many medieval little towns full of history and tradition. Etruscan necropolis plunged into a unique scenery, ancient Roman thermal baths, faunal oasis, natural parks, green woods and Mediterranean maquis in front of which the crystal sea finds its way, as a protective guardian with its coast of white sand and hard cliffs.
In association with local travel agencies, we organize trips to the most important towns, such as Florence, Siena and Pisa, together with mini cruises to the Islands of the Tuscan Archipelago. At our Reception you will find all the documentation required to know and appreciate the historical and cultural landscape heritage which have always distinguished our land.
